Bridging the gap between the care families can afford andthe care their children need
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As 2015 draws to a close, we would like to update you on what we have accomplished at Lighthouse Charitable Foundation during this past year and inform you of our year-end goals.
After several successful fundraising and "friend-raising" events over the last 4 months, we are thrilled to report that we have raised enough money to be able to help “bridge the gap” for several families!
“Ethan” is 20 years old and undergoing intensive outpatient therapy for his borderline personality disorder and major substance abuse. We were able to “bridge the gap” of $83.00 per session for his family and guarantee a year of continued twice-weekly therapy sessions.
“Catherine” is an 18 year-old struggling with suicidal depression. We were able to “bridge the gap” of $8,400 per year for her family to ensure she can continue with her ongoing intensive outpatient therapy.
"Clara" is a 13 year-old who struggles with severe OCD and behavioral issues. She has been in residential treatment for the last 6 months. We were able to “bridge the gap” of $17,500 for her family. This will allow her to complete the next 3 months of residential treatment that both her therapists and family believe she still needs before she can safely return home.
"Zach" is a 22 year-old young man at whom we are currently directing our fundraising efforts. He has a serious heroine and amphetamine addiction. He had the strength and determination to commit himself to a residential treatment program where he is making real progress. He is ready to move on to the transitional phase of treatment. He and his team of therapists agree that a minimum of 9 months of continued treatment would be optimal for his long-term success. At this time, we have been able to guarantee that we will “bridge the gap” for the next 3 months of transitional care for "Zach" - our hope is to bridge the total of 9 months.
We ask that as you make decisions about your year-end charitable giving, please consider donating to Lighthouse Charitable Foundation and help us reach our goal of guaranteeing "Zach" full length of treatment that he needs. Our goal is to raise $30,000 by 12/31/15.
Lighthouse is a 501(c) (3) organization. 100% of your donations go directly to the treatment facilities we work with, solely on the behalf of the children and young adults we support.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Juli or Lara. Donations can be made via our website (using PayPal), sending credit card information or a check made out to “Lighthouse Charitable Foundation, Inc.” using the envelope provided.
